In 2019 we installed a ground mounted solar system for Pomykala Farm at the edge of one of their farm fields. This 22.4 KW PV system provides most of the power to run the farm and the owners’ home. We are so pleased to have the opportunity to help a local farmer be more sustainable and save some much needed money to keep the farm afloat.
Pomykala Farm grows local vegetables for residents of the Champlain Islands and beyond. Bob and Jane Pomykala have been farming at the same location since the 1970’s. It was a pleasure to get to know them in the process of helping them go solar. And, the way things work for us at DC Energy, we will be in touch with them for many years to come supporting their solar system and making sure it works well.
